The rich, warm flavor of Grilled Lamb Chops has Sunday dinner written all over it. Lamb is often overlooked by many of our fellow Americans. It has such a wonderful and unique flavor we think it’s the best kept secret in the meat section of the supermarket. A little bit about loin chops from Food Network:
Loin chops are slightly leaner than rib chops and lack the rib bone. The eye of a loin chop is a bit larger than a rib chop and usually includes a medallion of tenderloin (like a tiny T-bone steak).
Loin chops are excellent grilled, broiled and sautéed, and are also best enjoyed cooked rare to medium-rare. Additional information here.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves which is why we’re bringing our version to you today. It’s warming up across most of the U.S. and that’s when a lot of us dust off the grills. There’s something about cooking outside over a flame. Let’s get to it.
Preparation: Grilled Lamb Chops
This one is so simple. We just do a little chopping, toss with the lamb chops, let time do its work, and then grill.
Grill over medium heat to medium rare (or desired doneness), about 4 minutes on one side and 3 minutes on the other if you have chops that are similar in thickness to ours. The cook time will vary with variance in thickness. See our recipe notes for more information. Let the meat rest 5 minutes before serving with your preferred side. We recommend our Asparagus Mushroom Risotto you’ll see in the cover photo.
